Holler stores your Apple user id (a stable, opaque token from Sign in with Apple), your optional email (only if you let Apple share it on first sign-in), the display name you chose, and the posts you publish. Posts are public — that's the whole product. We don't track you with cookies, analytics, or third-party services.
What we store
Apple user id — the opaque identifier Apple gives us when you sign in. We use it to look up your account; we can't reverse it to your iCloud identity.
Email — only if you explicitly chose "Share My Email" on Apple's first-time sign-in prompt. If you chose "Hide My Email", Apple gives us a private relay address; mail you receive at it forwards to your real address through Apple. Either way, the only thing we'd email you about is account-recovery if something goes wrong (we don't run a marketing list).
Display name — what you typed (or what Apple shared at sign-in). Editable; deletable by signing out and revoking access (see "Deleting your data").
Posts — every text post you publish. These are public on holler.tonysoftware.com and visible to anyone using the iOS app's feed.
What we don't store
No cookies, no localStorage tracking, no analytics scripts. The web page is plain server-rendered HTML.
No IP address logging beyond the standard Vercel access logs (which auto-rotate and aren't queried).
No password — Sign in with Apple is the only auth.
No private direct messages, no follower graph, no read receipts. There's only one feed.
Who can see what
Your posts and display name are public. Your Apple user id and email are not — they live only in the Holler database, used solely to identify you on the next login.
Deleting your data
Revoke Holler's access in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → Holler → Stop Using Apple ID. Apple notifies us; we delete your user row, which cascades to delete all your posts. If you'd rather do this immediately than wait for the iOS app to reach you, message @tdinh_me on X.
Where the data lives
Postgres database on Neon (US-East region). Web API on Vercel (US-East). No data leaves these two services. We don't share data with anyone, and we don't sell it.
Children
Holler is for users 13+. Sign in with Apple's account requirements enforce this.
